2019 Michigan State Meet

 

BarBellum LLC is pleased to promote the

2019 USA Powerlifting
Michigan State Championship.

Thank you for visiting our site and we look forward to hosting Michigan’s greatest athletes and fans of powerlifting.

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON
7 SEPTEMBER 2019

Registrations will close on 16 November, or when the cap is reached.

There is no waiting list.


Qualifying Requirements:

1.        Lifters must have a total from a USA Powerlifting meet on or after January 1, 2019 to qualify for the 2019 Michigan State meet.
2.       Your state of residence on your USA Powerlifting Membership must reflect Michigan – meaning, you must be a Michigan resident.

Registration:

 All participants must pre-register online.

All entries are non-refundable.

All entries are non-transferable

Meet Fees:

Required Meet Fee: $110. This fee includes one event of choice and the open division.

Events to choose from:

Full Power (all three lifts) Bench Only

Divisions:

Included in meet fee of $110 is entry into the open division. Additional divisions may be selected at an additional cost of $20 per division.


Additional divisions offered include:

Teen (age groups – T1: 14-15, T2: 16-17, T3: 18-19)

Junior (age group: 20-23)

Masters (age group: M1: 40-49; M2: 50-59; M3: 60-69; M4: 70 and over)

Note: Master’s divisions will follow IPF standards for age divisions

YOUTH DIVISION WILL NOT BE OFFERED FOR THIS MEET


Check-in info:

​Check-in from 7:00 am to 8:30 am

Weigh-Ins from 7:00am to 8:30 am

​Compulsory rules briefing at 8:30 am

​Lifting begins at 9:15 am


​Awards:

​Award ceremony will commence within 40 minutes after completion of all lifting on all platforms.

The following awards will be given:

Best overall male lifter based on Wilks’ points.

Best overall female lifter based on Wilks’ points.

Best overall male master lifter, based on Wilks’ points (if there are 6 of more male master, this will be a trophy, otherwise it will be a medal).

Best overall female master lifter, based on Wilks’ points (if there are 6 of more female master, this will be a trophy, otherwise it will be a medal).

Best overall male teen lifter, based on Wilks’ points (if there are 6 of more male teens, this will be a trophy, otherwise it will be a medal).

Best overall female teen lifter, based on Wilks’ points (if there are 6 of more female teens, this will be a trophy, otherwise it will be a medal).

Warner trophy for best squat, pound for pound. This is a perpetual trophy which remains with the chairman.

Ron Hemenway trophy for best bench press, pound for pound.This is a perpetual trophy which remains with the chairman.

Crichton trophy for best deadlift, pound for pound.This is a perpetual trophy which remains with the chairman.

Medals will be awarded for first through third place in each division, each weight group in each event.


​Eligibility and rules:

​All participants must be current USAPL members. (Register online: USAPL Membership Application)

All participants must have a valid total from a 2018 USA Powerlifting sanctioned meet.

Minimum 10% of participants will be drug tested by urinalysis.

​Required equipment:

1.       Singlet

2.       T-shirt (100% cotton, no V-neck, no pockets)

3.       knee-high socks for the deadlift

4.       brief-type non-supportive underwear

5.       athletic shoes.

Optional for raw competition: belt; wrist wraps; and neoprene knee sleeves. See rules and approved list at www.usapowerlifting.com.
